TUESDAY · AUGUST 11
Miller Campbell
The season opens with the return of Miller Campbell, who last played Music in the Playfield in 2024 and left the crowd buzzing with her twangy, gritty, and extremely honest brand of heartland rock in the spirit of Tom Petty and John Mellencamp. A cousin of country legend Glen Campbell, Miller spent three years playing in a Seattle band before settling in Bigfork, Montana, where she now writes and records.
A lot has happened since her last Madrona set. Miller has released her self-titled debut album and is touring the UK and Europe this summer before bringing the band back home for opening night.
TUESDAY · AUGUST 18
Jacqueline Tabor
Anchoring the middle of the season is Jacqueline Tabor, one of Seattle’s most celebrated jazz, blues, and swing vocalists. Jacqueline has won Earshot Jazz Vocalist of the Year four times and was recently inducted into the Earshot Jazz Hall of Fame.
What makes a Jacqueline Tabor performance memorable is not just the resume. It is the way her voice can quiet a crowd, even in a busy summer park. Her depth of skill, emotional range, and honesty pull every listener in, whether you came for the jazz or wandered over from the playground. Backed by her band, August 18 is the kind of evening worth bringing a blanket for.
TUESDAY · AUGUST 25
Frames in Motion
The series closes with Frames in Motion, a joyous five-piece indie folk-rock band from Seattle led by singer-songwriter and guitarist Jack Shriner. Jack’s family lived in neighboring Leschi for a decade, and he still thinks of Madrona and Leschi as home, which makes this booking a bit of a homecoming.
The band’s show channels Jack’s tightly crafted original songs, fusing interlocking vocal, guitar, fiddle, and keyboard melodies with dance-inducing rhythms. In the words of Dive-In Magazine, “The multi-layered warmth of this band’s elemental sound will bond and become friends with the little piece of soul within you that understands your fellow human.”
PRESENTING SPONSOR
Thanks to Meter Music School for making the 2026 series possible.
THE MUSIC
Live music in the playfield
Three bands across three August Tuesdays. Local songwriters, touring acts, and a park full of people who came to listen.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
Made by Madrona
A neighborhood tradition built by neighbors, for neighbors. Picnic blankets in the grass, kids running between songs, summer evenings spent together.
THE SUPPORT
Free because of you
Donations cover the artists. Sponsors cover the bills. Volunteers handle setup and the donation table. The whole night runs because the neighborhood pitches in.
SUPPORT THE SERIES
Help us bring the music back
Music in the Playfield runs on community donations. Every contribution covers the artists, the sound system, the stage, and the small army of details that turn three Tuesdays in August into something the neighborhood looks forward to all year. Pitch in what feels right.
BECOME A SPONSOR
Sponsor the 2026 series
Music in the Playfield is funded by local businesses and community members. Sponsorship covers the artists, sound system, stage rental, and the dozens of small details that turn three Tuesday evenings into something the neighborhood looks forward to.
Sponsors get visibility across the event series and the Madrona neighborhood. More importantly, your support is what makes the music free to attend for the entire community.
VOLUNTEER WITH US
Help out on show nights
Music in the Playfield comes together with a small team of volunteers who help set up the stage, run the donation table, and tidy up after each show. If you can spare a few hours on a Tuesday evening in August, we’d love to have you.
We’re still putting the 2026 schedule together. Email us to be on the list, and we’re happy to sign volunteer hour forms for students who need them.
