The annual Youth and Law Forum will take place on April 26, 2014 from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the MLK Family Arts Mentoring Enrichment Community Center. The Youth and Law Forum is a free event that was first organized in 1990 by King County Superior Court Judges LeRoy McCullough and Charles Johnson to educate youth and families about law careers, court procedures, legal rights and responsibilities, and current social issues. School-aged youth located in the Pacific Northwest from kindergarten through high school are encouraged to attend.
This year, the forum will include age appropriate seminars and workshops designed to help our youth understand the law and to develop relationships with law enforcement officials. There will be a wide variety of speakers from the local judiciary, legal community, and Seattle Police Department. Students can register for the event at http://www.youthandlaw.com.
